Joe Barrett- Bass, Beg. Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Drums– Joe Barrett began playing music professionally after joining The Ruckus as the bass player during his senior year of high school in 2010. In the time since, he has played hundreds of shows with The Ruckus, as well as numerous other bands, filling in on bass, guitar, and drums. Since 2017, Joe has been the resident bassist for Jefferson Choral Society. As an active member in the local music community, Joe has hosted open mic nights at local venues and takes pride in fostering creativity within the Lynchburg Community. Joe developed a love for teaching music while studying under Victor Wooten and his team at Wooten’s “Bass and Nature” Camps in Tennessee in 2010. In the years since, he has taught many students, both on a one-on-one basis, and in group settings such as EC Glass’ Rock Band class and Lynchburg Music Center’s Summer Rock Camps.
Musical Philosophy: Every student has their own unique musical voice inside them: their own song to sing. As their teacher, Joe’s aim is to provide them with the tools they need to discover this voice and bring it out, both by building a solid technical foundation, and by helping them get in touch with their individual creative selves.
